  • Public Event

Praised by the New York Times for its "deep reserves of virtuosity and irrepressible instinct," the Calidore String Quartet won grand prizes in virtually every U.S. chamber music competition (including Coleman) within two years of its founding at the Colburn School in Los Angeles.

The Quartet has performed in major venues around the world, and is currently in residence with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center's Bowers Program.

A tribute to its original home, Calidore's name is an amalgam of California and doré (French for golden): the "golden state."
